These special scissors for horses are made from rustproof Solingen blade steel. Compared to our tail scissors, the blades are slightly wider and more robust. Thanks to the elaborate, double-beveled faceted grind, these special horse scissors are exceptionally sharp and bring long-lasting joy with every cut. The very special serration also ensures a wonderful cutting feel and, above all, more grip when cutting tails and/or manes. For increased safety during cutting, the tips and all edges of these special horse scissors are completely rounded. The asymmetrically shaped, ergonomic handles made of break- and impact-resistant plastic fit securely and comfortably in the hand. Handles molded directly onto the blades ensure a particularly hygienic and very stable connection. The adjustable screw connection consists of a steel screw and steel bushing, which allows an especially firm connection, optimal tension adjustment, smooth operation, and thus consistently excellent cutting performance.

Care tips for optimal sharpness of the tail scissors
These horse scissors would survive a round in the dishwasher, but they clean best with warm water and a little dish soap. Avoid abrasive sponges and harsh cleaners to prevent damage to the material and to enjoy optimal sharpness for a long time. Occasionally putting a drop of PAUL care oil into the screw slot and between the halves made of high-quality stainless steel ensures consistently smooth cutting.
If Almuth’s Star Cut Special Horse Scissors no longer cut optimally after a long time, due to thick tail hair, frequent use, wear, or damage, use our special service: we sharpen and repair scissors gladly or supply you with the appropriate spare parts—for more sharpness and sustainability.
We also offer optimal scissor storage: In cooperation with the atelier of Sibilla Pavenstedt, we have developed high-quality scissor cases handcrafted by the non-profit association “Made auf Veddel” in Hamburg. Besides cases, you will also find a storage pouch for smaller scissors, handcrafted by the atelier “CARLITOS handmade.”
