This thread scissors is also known as the one-ring weaver’s scissors or ring finger scissors and sometimes even referred to as a thread trimmer or seam ripper. It was originally used for weaving loom work. Its design is unique: It has only one eye, through which the ring finger is placed, while the small scissors rests open in the palm of the hand or is turned on to the back of the hand. The fingers are therefore free to work – but as soon as a thread in need of cutting appears, the scissors is “at your fingertips” in an instant and ready to cut. Fully forged In textile finishing, the one-ring weaver’s scissors is perfect for clipping threads and trimming during the final inspection. It is made entirely of stainless steel and has an adjustable screw to regulate tension. The blades are straight and feature a fine grind on the inner edge.
